The Rhode Island web design firm launches two re-designed websites featuring responsive designs optimized for viewing on both desktop and mobile devices.
Warwick, RI - June 18, 2013 - Two recently launched websites designed and developed by the Rhode Island-based Brave River Solutions use responsive web design to deliver optimal viewing on multiple devices and screen sizes. The new eCommerce site for Zim Sailing and the newly redesigned website for Brave River have a fluid layout that flexes to fit the size of the screen it is being viewed on, reducing the need for viewers to scroll, pan, or zoom when accessing the site from mobile devices. Because responsive web design works off a flexible layout, rather than relying on pre-determined sizes, the websites will display correctly on any size screen, even for the newest devices.
As web browsing on tablets and mobile phone becomes more prevalent, the need for websites that render correctly on all device sizes is increasing. While the traditional solution for an optimal display required several versions of a website to be created (a script is used to determine which version of the website – mobile or desktop – should load on the user’s device), responsive web design uses one design, which adapts to multiple screen sizes, eliminating the need for new development when a new tablet or phone size is released.
The responsive design for the Zim Sailing site even extends to their online catalog and shopping cart system.
